Dr Ayoub Bouguettaya, PhD

Hi! I’m Dr Ayoub Bouguettaya, a Social/Health Psychologist. I currently work for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center as a scientist in the Program of Health, Internet, and Society.

My main interest is understanding clinical and health psychology from a social psychiatric and social psychology approach. I have a strong interest (and background) in researching disordered eating.

I was the former head of the No True Scotsman Lab at the University of Birmingham. Before that, I was at Monash University/the Alfred Hospital, working on optimizing care.

My main research interests are how we can apply social psychology to common ills, through valid, critical approaches. My secondary interest, coming from my many years in government, is treatment optimization using a combined social/clinical psychological approach.

I also have been teaching psychology continuously since 2013; I hope you enjoy my taster lectures (under teaching history) and my research (under Publications).
